Clemson Major Events (CME) offers iconic campus landmarks as the perfect venues to hold your next event. From Tillman Auditorium to the Outdoor Theater, we can help you plan and host your upcoming seminar, special event or more. We offer a variety of services and amenities to make your event the perfect experience for you and your guests. Iconic Locations for Your Next Event
Tillman Auditorium
With its wooden ceiling and its intimate audience setting, Tillman Auditorium features outstanding acoustics for musical and theatrical performances. This iconic campus landmark theatre seats 820, features dressing rooms, lights and sound booths, and ample hallway space for merchandising and pre- and post-event activities.
Completed in 1891, Tillman Auditorium is used primarily for lectures and seminars, small concerts, pageants and dances. It also features a new state-of-the-art sound board, light system and projector installed in 2007, making this the perfect venue for all your technological needs. Tillman Auditorium might just be the perfect place to hold your next corporate seminar, small concert or a variety of other unique and memorable events.
Military Heritage Plaza
In addition to the indoor space, Tillman Auditorium features an adjunct outdoor space which may fit a stand alone event or something in coordination with an event indoors. Military Heritage Plaza features a picturesque outdoor space, with a patio or veranda-like feel.
Overlooking Bowman Field and downtown Clemson, the Plaza is another great location to hold your next event. Some popular events held at the Plaza include graduation parties, cookouts and speakers. The Plaza also features historic decorative accents including war medals, a statue of a soldier and other memorable items making it the perfect location with a great ambience and history.
Bowman Field
The “front lawn” of Clemson’s campus, Bowman Field provides the perfect location for a traditional Clemson event. Located in front of Tillman Auditorium and Military Heritage Plaza, Bowman features a wide expanse of grassy area for events like the Annual Welcome Back Festival, Homecoming Floats, ROTC drills, International Festival, and more.
Carillon Gardens
The Carillon Gardens are more than picturesque, they are the perfect place for an enthralling outdoor event. From wedding ceremonies and receptions to student-led events, the Carillon Gardens provide hosts and guests alike with a unique opportunity to create a memorable and historic event on Clemson’s campus. Additional events held in the Carillon Gardens include cookouts, graduation parties and even laser tag.
The Carillon Gardens and historic bell were a gift of the Golden Anniversary Class of 1943, completed in 1993. Dedicated as a tribute to the entire class and those who lost their lives during World War II, the Gardens feature a lush grassy area and are in proximity to the Outdoor Theater and Tillman Auditorium.
Outdoor Theater
Below the Carillon Gardens is the Outdoor Theater. In the heart of campus and nestled between the Gardens, Reflection Pond and Cooper Library, the Theater is the perfect venue for your next outdoor event. The Theater seats approximately 2500 on grass and concrete-tiered seating levels. Seating for an additional 5000+ is available on the grassy slope facing the stage.
There is space available on the surrounding sidewalks for concessions and merchandise, though the space is not necessarily desirable for ticketed events due to its open nature. The Theater has ample power and is a great location for movies, speakers and recently featured an ice skating rink.
Johnstone Meadows
Located behind Harcombe Dining Hall and the University Union, Johnstone Meadows is another great outdoor venue. It is a spacious field with ample power, perfect for national student tours, small concerts and more. Most recently Guitar Hero held a sponsored event on the field.

TigerPaw Productions (TPP) exists to facilitate the production of major events for Clemson University. TPP strives to utilize the talents of Clemson students in all capacities and to provide its members with a fun, educational, and professional work environment. Clemson Major Events works together with TPP to create an innovative and entrepreneurial environment to maximize the resources of the university while providing events for students and the community.
