With one of Soul Music's all-time great group names and one of its most distinctive lead vocalists, the Chairmen of the Board have been pleasing "beach music" lovers for over 30 years. Best known for their single "Give Me Just a Little More Time," the Chairmen of the Board were one of the smoothes and most popular soul acts to emerge from Detroit in the early '70s. Although their time at the top of the R&B charts was brief-- their first Top Ten arrived in 1970, their last in 1973 -- they recorded a handful of '70s soul classics, all distinghed by the high, trembling vocals of General Norman Johnson, who also wrote the bulk of the group's material.

The 'Out-of-Towners' were formed in 2001 as a result of a local backyard re-union of three former members of three well-known regional beach music bands from the upstate of South Carolina. The group consists mainly of three or four members with the assistance of state-of-the-art midi computerized back-up assistance to create a full brass sound which is needed to generate those dynamic beach sounds.

Maurice Williams was born in Lancaster, South Carolina in 1940. In 1955 Maurice formed his first band, "The Royal Charms", who immediately began winning local talent shows and playing high school proms. In 1957 the group changed its name to "The Gladiolas". Maurice composed a song titled "Little Darlin'" which "The Gladiolas" recorded in Nashville for the Excello label. It was an immediate hit and due to its strength in the the South, a nationally famous recording group, "The Gladiolas" name was changed to "Maurice Williams & The Zodiacs" and in 1960 in Colombia, SC they recorded Maurice's song "Stay".

Formed in 1982, located in Spartanburg, South Carolina, The East Coast Band has traveled all over the southeast playing festivals, conventions, clubs and private parties. This super group has delievered one single, one album, three CD's and landed two recordings on the John Hook Rhythm and Beach charts. This group delivers Beach, Oldies, Variety and Retro and can please the most demanding audiences with it's great vocals, high energy stage presence and all around great music.
