Sister Hazel Rocks Clemson!
April 26, 2007
Clemson University’s Littlejohn Coliseum celebrates the very last day of class with a giant lawn party featuring outdoor food fare and great live music. Sister Hazel a crowd favorite will headline the outdoor concert on April 26, 2007. The five-piece band, Sister Hazel, is in the middle of a national tour promoting their new album “Absolutely.” The event is an all ages show and is open to the public. Tickets go on sale this Friday at Ticketmaster.com and at the Littlejohn Coliseum Box Office
The gates open at 6 p.m. and the event begins at 7 p.m. and includes local supporting band B’yr Lady who recently won the Clemson Battle of the Bands. At least one other Clemson performing group will also earn a spot on stage.
Produced by Clemson University’s Student Government and Tiger Paw Productions, the concert will serve as a benefit event to raise money and awareness for philanthropy projects supported by various Clemson student organizations.
Carrying on their rock roots tradition, Sister Hazel’s Ken Block (vocals, acoustic guitar), Drew Copeland (vocals, rhythm guitar), Ryan Newell (lead guitar), Jett Beres (bass) and Mark Trojanowski (drums) are extremely proud of their new 13 song album. “In the most non-egotistical way possible, I feel like this is the best record we’ve ever made,” says Drew Copeland.
After playing CNN’s New Year’s Eve show, Sister Hazel set their 2007 touring sights on both land and sea, playing everywhere from the Gimme Three Days Rock Cruise to shows in California, Oregon and New York. With their charity events and accessibility to the community, the Sister Hazel’s relationship with their ever-growing fan base is naturally personal and loyal.
Hazelnuts, new and old, can be a part of the live Sister Hazel Experience. Tickets are $10 in advance and go on sale Friday, March 30, 2007 at Ticketmaster.com or the Littlejohn Coliseum Box Office. For more information or driving directions, visit www.clemsonmajorevents.com.
