Feb. 18, 2005
CLEMSON - Hottest comedian on the planet, Larry the Cable Guy, will bring Clemson University a second helping of blue collar comedy when he performs at Littlejohn Coliseum next spring. Tickets make great gifts, so the show will go on sale to students, faculty and staff with a Clemson ID on Thursday, Dec. 2, and to the general public on Friday, Dec. 3, at the Littlejohn box office and at all TicketMaster outlets.
Tickets for upper and lower bowl seats are $35, tickets for floor and riser seats are $40. A $3 bond/facility fee will be added to all tickets, and all tickets will be $5 more on the day of the show. Clemson students and staff receive a $5 discount on all tickets with valid id.
Larry the Cable Guy comes to Clemson following the recent success of two other comedy shows at Littlejohn - Dave Chappelle in April and Ron White in September. Chappelle's show was a sellout of more than 7,000 tickets, and White's appearance sold more than 5,000 tickets. Both shows were record crowds for the comedians.
Larry the Cable Guy began his stand-up comedy career in 1988 and was soon making appearances on "Evening at the Improv," "Comic Strip Live," Comedy Central, MTV and Showtime. In 1992, he ventured into radio with a highly rated morning show in Tampa, Fla. Today, his show is carried daily in 14 markets on rock radio. He also makes regular guest appearances on Jeff Foxworthy's "Country Countdown Show" and on other syndicated shows including "Man Cow in the Morning," "The John Boy and Billy Show" and "The Bob and Tom Show."
Larry also stars on the WB network's comedy sketch series "Blue Collar TV," which followed the success of the Blue Collar Comedy Tour and the film of the same name. The highly successful tour and film featured Larry performing with Jeff Foxworthy, Ron White and Bill Engvall. Larry's CD, "Lord, I Apologize" has reached gold status and was number one on the Billboard comedy charts for 14 weeks in a row. He also released a DVD of his Comedy Central special titled "Git-R-Done."
Most recently, Larry filmed the sequel "Blue Collar Comedy Tour Rides Again," which will be available on DVD Dec. 7. He will also be the voice of a character in an upcoming feature film from Disney/Pixar. This show is promoted by Tiger Paw Productions and presented by 101.1 WROQ and 93.3 The Planet radio stations and sponsored by Ronnie Cole, Lake Keowee Chrylser/Dodge and Budweiser. http://www.larrythecableguy.com/
