CLEMSON - Silky smooth R and B phenomenon, Angie Stone, will grace the stage at Littlejohn Coliseum Thursday, January, 27, 2005. The poetess and producer who has penned hits for Mary J. Blige, D’Angelo and Milik Pendleton and has played sax in Lenny Kravitz’s band is now firmly out in front riding the success of her second solo album, Stone Love, for which she had been nominated to receive a Grammy this year. She is raw and powerful, sensual and versatile. Her music pays homage to the old school artists who helped shape her rebellious, funky aesthetic and her voice brings enchantment to those who listen and hear the passion.

As a special treat, Anthony Hamilton will open this show. The two artists recently toured together calling their show the Silk and Sandpaper Tour. They work great together, giving the audience just the right mix of edgy neo-pop soul and heartfelt blues.

Anthony Hamilton recently played a date with Floetry at the BILO Center in Greenville SC, but the show had to be cut short when he became extremely ill while on stage. Anthony wanted to make it up to his fans by playing another SC date as soon as possible. The Angie Stone concert already planned for Clemson was the perfect opportunity to come back to the market.

Littlejohn Coliseum has agreed to honor the tickets to the BILO Center concert and will trade those tickets out for bowl seats first come first served at either the Littlejohn Box Office or The BILO Center Box Office. Fans are asked to understand that this is only made possible due to the generous financial support of the university and the student concert committee, and the artist’s willingness to make it happen. Both venues will work together to make the ticket trades as smooth as possible.

“This worked out great. Angie is a top class performer in her own right, but to be able to offer the audience both Angie and Anthony is just a thrill! Littlejohn is proud to host this event and those that went to the Greenville show are really going to get an exceptional value. We appreciate Angie and Anthony and all people that worked together to do the right thing for the fans.” Marty Kern, director of major events for Clemson University said.
